Art on the Rocks

Become an Exhibiting Artist

Art on the Rocks is an annual fine art festival held in Marquette, Michigan, celebrating original, high-quality artwork across a wide range of media. Set along the shores of Lake Superior, at Mattson Lower Harbor Park, the event brings together artists and a large, engaged audience in a distinctive outdoor setting that supports both meaningful connections and strong sales opportunities.

Artists from across the region and beyond are invited to apply to exhibit. Art on the Rocks is organized to emphasize artistic quality, professional presentation, and a positive experience for both artists and attendees.

Artwork & Media

Art on the Rocks showcases original, handcrafted work created by the exhibiting artist. A wide variety of media are represented, including (but not limited to) painting, ceramics, jewelry, glass, sculpture, fiber, wood, photography, printmaking, and mixed media.

All work must be original in design and execution. Commercially manufactured items, mass-produced work, or items made from kits or patterns are not permitted.

Artist Selection

Exhibiting artists are selected through an application and review process that considers artistic quality, craftsmanship, originality, and overall presentation. Because space is limited, submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance, and artists are encouraged to submit their strongest and most current work.

Returning artists are welcome to apply each year, as participation is reviewed annually.

Application Information

Artists interested in exhibiting must complete an application for consideration. Application materials typically include images of recent work, a booth display image, and general information about the artist and their medium.

Details regarding application deadlines, fees, required materials, and participation policies are provided within the application itself.
